"This is the first year in a long time that I have been home in Ireland for Darkness Into Light, so I am honoured to be able to support and take part in person, especially as the popular walks return and people can come together again. Up to 200,000 people gathered around the globe in previous years to walk in solidarity with those experiencing dark times and this year we want to encourage people to get their groups together once again and sign up to make a real difference.”

Tolü Makay

Darkness Into Light Ambassador and independent artist, singer and songwriter born in Nigeria and raised in the midlands of Ireland.

“I’m delighted that Darkness Into Light is welcoming back in-person walks in Ireland and across the world this year. The sunrise walks provide an opportunity for communities to connect and bring a sense of hope whilst raising vital funds for the incredible services that Pieta provides. The past few years have shown that we are a nation that rally’s for our local communities so I know that the people of Ireland will get behind me in support of Darkness Into Light this year to raise vital funds for an incredible cause, Pieta.”

Philly McMahon

After an incredibly tough few years for everyone, now more than ever Pieta need our support so that they can continue to ensure that their doors and 24/7 helpline remain open for people in crisis free of charge. Were known as one of the most generous nations globally, so I’m sure that the whole nation will get behind this amazing cause and support Darkness Into Light this year.”
