Here comes the Sun...
Pieta House couldn’t have asked for a more spectacular lightshow for their 2026 fundraiser “Darkness into Light” (#DIL2026) walk between Laytown and Bettystown last Saturday, 9 May. Hundreds of people and many happy dogs walked the 5K route and were treated to a stunning dawn over the Mourne mountains and ocean as light gradually broke and the sun appeared.
Darkness into Light is Pieta House's biggest fundraiser and directly supports crucial suicide and self-harm prevention services. The Charity reported that more than 80,000 people registered for this year’s walk.
I’d like to add a huge THANK YOU to each of my sponsors whose donations raised €263! This was my first Pieta House sponsored walk and I’m hoping to enjoy many more at our beautiful seaside location.
Thank you again! Ann
