Support my walk to help stop suicide

I'm taking part in Darkness Into Light 2025 on Saturday, 10th May, to raise vital funds for Pieta and people affected by suicide and self-harm.

You can help keep Pieta's essential services FREE and available to anyone who needs them by donating now to help me reach my fundraising goal. Every euro counts. A small donation can make a big impact.

Together, we can light up the darkness and create a brighter future for everyone.

Thank you so much for your support

My Updates

1st Darkness Into Light

My first Darkness into Light was in 2022 with my sister and her husband. We went out to the Lighthouse at Poolbeg and watched the sun rise over the horizon. There were lots of people there, dressed in the yellow tshirts, nodding and smiling at each other as we walked. I couldn't figure out out at first, why when the sun crept above the water line were my eyes full of tears. I realised then that my heart was full, I could feel the love everywhere and it was spilling out of me in tears. The people all around me had been touched by suicide, whether it was a loved one, a friend or for me, the dark thoughts in my head. We all had something so scary in common, yet we were all here, in the light together, remembering the happier days and grieving the ones we lost.
The silence at the lighthouse was deafening, but I imagined all the souls that had been lost standing there with their families and friends letting them know they were not in pain anymore but they missed them too.
Suicide may seem like the only way out, the dark thoughts may seem to powerful to overcome but that first Darkness into Light walk showed me that we are never alone. Pieta House is there, your family are there, you ARE NOT ALONE!
I'm so grateful to my family for bringing me to Pieta House to get the help I needed, I hope the money raised this year will help anyone of you that might need it. Reach out, don't try to fix this yourself, come for the walk, see what you'll be leaving behind and remember to always walk toward the light. X
