Support my walk to help stop suicide

On Saturday, 9th of May, I’ll be taking part in Darkness Into Light 2026. This is a walk that holds deep meaning for so many people, myself included.

I’m walking to show support for those who are struggling right now, to honour those we’ve lost, and to help ensure Pieta can continue to be there for people when they need support most.

Every step I take is for someone who may feel unseen, unheard, or overwhelmed. It’s my way of saying, “You are not alone. Help is available. There is always light, even when it’s hard to see it.”

If you’re in a position to support my walk, please know that every single euro helps Pieta continue to answer the call and guide people towards hope at some of the darkest moments of their lives.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being part of this and for supporting me along the way.

My Updates

Much appreciated support it means a lot to fundraise for such a fundamental organisation

I’ve never used pieta myself but fundraising for them really hits home.
I know people who have lost their lives to suicide and have seen the impact it has on family first hand. My main reason for doing the fundraiser as stated below, was to help others access the care they need. I myself had to fight to get the care I need for my mental health so by setting up the fundraiser was to fight to get others out there like me the help and support they require for their journey of recovery. Recovery isn’t linear, it’s tough but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Many people out there struggle in silence, don’t have access to supports and that’s a huge contributing factor to the high suicide rates in Ireland. Nobody should struggle alone there is supports out there and pieta is one of them.

Bring the light back into the tunnel to shine brighter and eliminate the darkness

Taking part in the darkness into light walk is very personal to me. As someone who has mental health challenges, I can relate to others out there who are struggling. Too many life’s are lost to suicide each year and this is due to the lack of services and supports needed. Suicide has such a profound negative impact on family’s  and the wider community. More awareness and services are needed to facilitate people in need and help prevent more life’s being lost to suicide. Not everyone who loses their lives to suicide wants to die, it’s to end the pain they are experiencing. By taking part in this walk I hope to spread awareness, support people to access care they need along with, showing hope to people out there that there is light at the end of the tunnel
