Steps of Hope Camino de Santiago for Pieta House
I am raising funds for Pieta House through Darkness Into Light by taking on the Camino de Santiago, walking 240km from Porto to Santiago de Compostela over 9 days.
This journey is dedicated to supporting mental health awareness and suicide prevention, and to helping ensure that anyone struggling can access counselling and crisis support when they need it most.

This is amazing. The Camino is something I’ve been saving for and hoping to do solo myself someday. As someone who struggles with mental health, what you’re doing is incredibly inspiring to me. I hope that one day I’m able to take this journey too — not because I think a trip like this magically solves every problem, but because I believe the mental, physical, and spiritual challenge of it can bring clarity, peace, and a deeper understanding of yourself. There’s something powerful about stepping away from the noise of everyday life and being alone in such a beautiful, serene environment with nothing to do but keep moving forward. I’ve realized that a lot of my solo travel has been more about escaping reality than truly confronting it. The Camino feels different. It feels like the kind of experience that challenges you mentally, physically, and spiritually in a way that can genuinely change you and bring a sense of peace and self-awareness. You’re a huge inspiration and a real source of motivation. More than anything, you seem like a genuinely kind and caring person, and I truly wish you the most incredible journey. Hi Dom, My name is Waylon. I’m a medical student from the States. As I’m in school, I can’t give much, but I hope my little bit can make a difference! Thank you so much for doing this charity! I’ve been watching yours and McKenna’s videos for a long time, since you guys first started posting. I just wanted to say that I really appreciate you both being such a positive influence on a young gay man like myself! Your videos found me around the time I was just starting to come out to some of my friends and family, which was something I struggled to do for a long time. It was really helpful for me to see role models of a gay man who believed in God, took care of himself, and built a wholesome and healthy relationship. Seeing the way you both carried yourselves helped me realize I didn’t have to choose between my health, my faith, and having a healthy relationship someday. I know it’s social media, so I don’t presume to know everything, and I’m sure there’s a lot of struggle we don’t see. But I think that’s all the more reason a charity like this is important. I just wanted to encourage you and let you know that you make a difference far beyond what you probably know. I hope to continue supporting you both for a long time. Thank you again for what you do.
