Help me stand up against suicide and self-harm.

This is my first time taking part in Darkness Into Light 2024, on Saturday, May 11th at sunrise to support those suffering in silence.

There is so much stigma surrounding this topic of suicide and self-harm that most of us prefer to keep silent and pretend it doesn't exist at all. Until.... we experience it... upfront and close!

My first encounter with suicide was that of my cousin sister who was this amazing human being. I didn't know how much she struggled with her depression until after her death.

In a way, I think I'm doing this for her because if only I knew then what I know now, I would've made the effort to be more present in her life and talk about it more openly than in hushed tones.

I hope to raise funds to create awareness and a more profound sensitivity to a truly worthy cause.
